B. Voc. (Arts & Crafts) The establishment of a Centre for Arts and Crafts, wherein talented artisans and craftsmen would impart their knowledge to the students, is one method of preserving as well as further developing the traditional crafts. The proposed 3-year B. Voc. (Arts and Crafts) shall provide unique opportunities of learning and acquiring multiple skills so as to make young students (10+2) admitted to the programme capable to innovate designs and marketable products. The students will have opportunities to learn in classrooms, arts / crafts workshops and at the studio of master craftsman/woman. Business Environments, contemporary marketing practices and business strategies shall facilitate the students to develop themselves as competent professionals in chosen field(s) of arts and crafts. The arts and crafts by now have acquired the status of business, one that has created rooms for a quite variety of careers. A large range of arts/ design-related jobs and career opportunities is available in a wide array of industry. It is also an area of possibilities of viable self-employment and a decent livelihood. As with most contemporary artists, he or she anticipates creating not only functional but aesthetically unique products. The students would be awarded Diploma Certificate if they leave after one year; Advanced Diploma if they leave after completion of 2 years of study, and B. Voc. Degree after successful completion of 3 years. Eligibility: 10+2 level or its equivalent, from any stream, without any minimum marks.
