CUSB Physics students get INSA Summer Fellowship
Two M.Sc. Physics students of Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) are selected for summer research fellowship offered by Indian National Science Academy (INSA). Aashish Prakash and Kumar Awanish Pathak got success in bagging the prestigious fellowship. They were congratulated by Dept. Head & Dean Prof. Venkatesh Singh and other faculty members of the department namely Dr. Budhendra Kumar Singh, Dr. Vijay Raj Singh, Dr. Akhilananda Kumar, Dr.Rohit Ranjan Shahi, Dr. Nitin Chandra and Dr. Puneet Mishra.
Providing details Prof. Vekatesh Singh said that Aashish Prakash had proposed a write-up on Condensed Matter Physics and got selected. He will be get 2 months of internship at CSIR-Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute Durgapur, West Bengal and learn new scientific trends under the guidance of DR. RANAJIT GHOSH. While another student Kumar Awanish Pathak submitted a write-up on Astronomy and Astrophysics. He got selected through INSA under Focus Area Science Technology Summer Fellowship 2020 for 2 months of internship at Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES), Nainital (Utrakhand) and learn new scientific trends under the guidance of Prof. Dipankar Banerjee.
This is rare feat for them and they secure their place among the few students selected from across the country. The Indian National Science Academy (INSA) was established in January 1935 with the object of promoting science in India and harnessing scientific knowledge for the cause of humanity and national welfare. Under this, it provides summer internship for the students who are keen to go in the research orientated filed’, added Prof. Singh.
