CUSB B.Sc. B.Ed. student Madhulika gets internship at BARC
Madhulika Madhu, an undergraduate (B.Sc.-B.Ed., 6th Semester) student of chemistry of Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) was selected for the prestigious summer research internship programme in Chemical Sciences to be carried out at Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai. Madhulika is a will undergo two months training at BARC under supervision of experts.
Providing details Dr. Amiya Priyam, Asst. Prof., Dept. of Chemistry while congratulation Madhulika said that the selection process was conducted at the national level jointly by the three national science academies : 1. Indian academy of sciences, Bengaluru, 2. Indian National Science Academy, New Delhi, and 3. The National Academy of Sciences, Allahabad. The programme offers two months summer research fellowships for bright & motivated students to work with the renowned scientists. For the next two months Madhulika will be working in the laboratory of BARC under the supervision of Dr. Atindra Banerjee, said Dr. Priyam.
On her achievement a delighted Madhulika expressed her gratitude for faculty members of department, Dr. Girish Chandra, Dr. Amiya Priyam, Dr. Arindam Bankura, Dr. Sudip Mohapatra and Dr. Sourabh Kumar for being supportive and encouraging in such endeavours. She further said that the advanced level experiments on spectrophotometry that she performed here strengthened her candidature for the aforementioned fellowship. Madhulika said that she wants to work on the nanomaterial-based photocatalytic methods to generate hydrogen energy, which is a greener way to overcome the energy-crisis. It is a matter of great pride for the university that it has bright young minds, who are willing to contribute to the scientific advancement of the nation by being actively engaged in cutting-edge research. Meanwhile, the faculty members of the department have congratulated and wished her for a bright future.
