CUSB’s Biotech department visited Vastu Vihar Biotech Lab at Gaya
Department of Biotechnology, CUSB visited the Vastu Vihar Biotech lab at Sambodhi Bodh Gaya. On the day, the faculty members of Biotechnology and PhD scholars interacted with the Chief Managing Director (CMD) of Vastu Vihar Er. Vinay Tiwari and his research team working over there. The faculty along with the students visited Microbiology, Biotechnology and Cell Culture Laboratories and Microfluidics lab. There the students learned about various unique works going on like designing of portable PCR, DNA isolation kit based on microfluidics and wound healing diagnosis kit.
The CMD Mr. Vinay Tiwari briefed us about the finding of novel drug which is effective against Psoriasis and few other diseases. They have unit for production of producer gas which they use for generating electricity in the campus. They showed us the production process of Rumen Poshak a product available in market for cattle. In the session after lunch, the Biotechnology faculty and students had interaction session with Mr. Tiwari and his research team where Mr. Tiwari gave a detailed presentation about the various research works going over there. Then, Prof. Rizwanul Haque (Head, Department of Biotechnology) gave a brief presentation about the faculty of Biotechnology, CUSB and their research areas and specializations.
Further, the faculty members also briefed about their research work. The PhD scholars of Biotechnology CUSB and the research team members of Mr. Tiwari also introduced themselves with their research areas. Overall, it was a good initiative and a fruitful visit for all the Biotechnology CUSB faculty and research scholars and the Department hopes to have research collaborations with exchange of students and scientists leading to a productive academia-industry collaboration. They also proposed to hold seminars and conferences of national and international levels together.
