CUSB Biotech student Shikha got 1st Prize at International Conference in Kerala
Shikha Rani, a research scholar of Department of Biotechnology of CUSB got 1st Prize at an international conference in Kerala on 8th December 2019. She had bagged the first prize in SIL (Short Invited Lecture) at International Conference on Natural Polymers (ICNP19) organised by Mahatma Gandhi University at Kottayam in Kerala. Her topic of presentation was "Antimicrobial and water uptake properties of nalidixic acid and bipyridyl incorporated soy protein Biopolymeric film: A Comparative Study”.
Providing more details Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Associate Professor and supervisor of Shikha said that the international conference was organized by School of Energy materials (MG university), IIUCNN (MG university) in association with Siberian Federal University Russia, International Academy of Physical Sciences, Allahabad and Federal University of Rio de Jenerio, Brazil. Delegates of several countries like France, Czech Republic, South Africa, Russia, Malaysia and several Reputed Indian Institutions have participated in the conference, mentioned Dr. Kumar.
Quite delighted with the achievement Shika Rani said that representing the university at such a big level and getting 1st prize is proud moment for me. It’s a matter of great pleasure that my lecture was declared best by the jury among the 50 lectures delivered by the participants.
Shikha was congratulated by Head of Department Prof. Rizwanul Haque and other faculty members of Department of Biotechnology namely, Prof. Durg Vijai Singh, Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Dr. Krishna Prakash, Dr. Nitish Kumar, Dr. Jawaid Ahsan and Dr. Antresh Kumar.
