Panel Discussion on Women Empowerment and Role of Indian Constitution
A panel discussion on the topic “Women Empowerment and Role of Indian Constitution” was organised at Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) on February 13, 2020. The panel discussion was organised under Year Long Celebration of Constitution Day Programme, as instructed by the University Grant Commission (UGC) on completion 70th Year of implementation of Indian Constitution. As the state co-ordinating University the Nodal Officer Prof. S. P. Shrivastava, Prof. of Law of CUSB conducted the panel discussion in company of co-ordinator Dr. Anant Prakash Narayan. The panel discussion was attended by the faculty members and students from the School of Law & Governance and other departments of the University.
After the formal inauguration the panel discussion progressed further with the speech of Dr. Chandra Prabha Pandey (Asst. Prof. of Education) who spoke about the importance of education for upliftment of women in the society. Dr. Parijat Pradhan, (Asst. Prof., Sociology) quoted the example of Sarojini Naidu and relevance of her work for empowerment of women in context to Indian constitution. Mrs. Poonam Kumar (Asst. Prof., Law) highlighted the legal and constitutional aspects for rights of women. Prof. S. P. Shrivastava as the Nodal Officer of Constitution Day also shared his views on the topic and suggested the ways for women empowerment. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Deo Narayan Singh who thanked all for attending the session.
