CUSB fraternity generously came forward for helping flood-affected people of Bihar

The Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) fraternity comprised of faculty, staff and students generously came forward and joined hands to help out the flood affected people of Bihar in the month of August 2017. On August 30, 2017, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Professor Harish Chandra Singh Rathore flagged off the relief material collected in the University for flood affected people. While flagging off the relief material, the Vice-Chancellor said that more than cash and kind it is important to keep the brotherhood and spirit of humanity. He praised the effort of Community Development Cell (CDC) of the University and said that though we are a small family but we have managed to generate such resources. Prof. Rathore stressed on the point that this spirit should be kept alive and whenever need arises we should be ready to stand and support.
Dr. Sujeet Kumar, convener, Community Development Cell informed that donation campaign was carried out in both the campuses Patna and Gaya. He said that due to huge support of university faculty members, staff and students CDC managed to collect around Rs. 90,000 cash and good amount of eatables. Dr. Anju Helen Bara, Co-convener, Community Development Cell thanked the University administration, faculty, staff and students for their support.
On this occasion Registrar of the University Prof. Gayatri V. Patil, Controller of Examination Mrs. Rashmi Tripathi, Professor Prabhat Kumar Singh, Professor-In-charge, Gaya Campus, Dr. Sanat Kumar Sharma, Dean Students’ Welfare, Professor Kaushal Kishore, Proctor, other faculty and staff and students of the university were present.
Flood Relief Campaign by Community Development Cell
The Community Development Cell (CDC) of Central University of South Bihar done the praiseworthy job and initiated a flood relief campaign in both the campuses of the University as per the direction given by Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor. This campaign was focused to provide relief to flood victims in the form of cash and kind. In both the campuses faculty members, staff and students contributed enthusiastically. From the food material donated in both the campuses around 230 food packets were made by the members of CDC. One food packet was containing chura, sattu, jaggery and one packet biscuit. In addition to these food packets milk powder, Glucose and ORS packets were also kept to distribute among children. 11 bundles of clothes were also there to be distributed to the flood affected people. CUSB family was able to generate Rs. 90,000/- in cash also which was sent to chief minister relief fund.
On 31st of August, 2017 members of Community Development Cell Dr. Sujeet Kumar, Convener, Dr. Narsingh Kumar, Dr. Prabhat Ranjan, Dr. Gautam Kumar and Dr. Vijay Kumar Singh, members along with Dr. Atish Prashar, HOD, Centre for Mass Communication and Media, Dr. Ravi Suryavashi, Assistant Professor and students’ volunteers five in number from Gaya campus and three from Patna campus visited the flood affected area near Muzaffarpur.
They managed to distribute the food material to all the temporary households at the visited area. Food materials and clothes were provided to all the camps and milk powder, Glucose and ORS packets were distributed among children. This campaign was successful in sensitising CUSB fraternity and rising to the cause
