Road Safety Workshop at CUSB
Keeping in the mind the increase in road accidents at alarming rate, the Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) ran a special drive in the University premises during first week of February 2019. During the Road Safety Week drive, one-day workshop on the theme of ‘Road Safety’ was organised. Mr. Harsh Kumar, from Community Traffic Police Department of Transport attended the workshop as chief guest. Mr. Amlendu Jha was also present as expert in the workshop.
After the formal inaugural Mr. Harsh Kumar shared various tips regarding road safety with students which included first Aid, emergency treatment and search, Ham Radio, personal safety, etc. With the increasing population and number of vehicles the rate of accidents on roads have increased, hence we should learn some life skills like CPR. The main causes of road accidents are consumption of alcohol during drive, driving without helmet, wrong side riding, overtaking. Every year around 1.5 lakh people lose their valuable life due to road accidents, said Mr. Kumar.
Mr. Amlendu Jha spoke about women safety and the techniques of self-defence. Self-defence is not only a technique of safety, in fact, it makes you self-dependent and enhances the confidence. The workshop was organised under the supervision of DSW Dr. Sanat Kumar Sharma by the chief hostel warden Dr. Chandra Prabha Pandey and warden Dr. Renu and Dr. Swati.
