CUSB Law students win National Moot Court Competition at BHU
The students of School of Law and Governance, Central University of South Bihar has won the 7th Mahamana Malaviya National Moot Court Competition, 2019 organized at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) during April 05 – 07, 2019. CUSB team defeated Army Institute of Law, Mohali in finals. A total of 24 teams from Law Schools all over India participated in this competition. A few prominent teams participating in this national moot were from Delhi University, Amity Law School, Delhi, NUALS, Kochi, MNLU, Aurangabad, ULC, Bangalore and Lloyd Law College, Noida.
CUSB team comprised of Tanay Akash, Anand Shukla and Gargi Upadhyaya. The team defeated ULC Bangalore and Sastra University, Tamil Nadu in preliminary round, Symbiosis,Pune in Quarters, Llyod Law college, Noida in Semi Finals. They finally defeated Army Institute of Law, Mohali in the Grand -Final to win this award. Justice (Retd.) Girdhar Malaviya, Chancellor of the Banaras Hindu University awarded the winners in the valedictory ceremony.
Hon'ble Vice Chancellor of Central University of South Bihar Prof. Harish Chandra Singh Rathore congratulated the Winners and wished them success in their upcoming endeavours. He also applauded the remarkable efforts of the faculty members of the School of Law and Governance. Dr. Prahat Kumar Singh, Registrar of the University also congratulated the Winners and said that they have made the University proud. Dr. Pawan Kumar Mishra, Head and Dean, School of Law and Governance congratulated the winners and appreciated their hard work and labour. Mrs. Poonam Kumari and Dr. Deo Narayan Singh, Coordinators of the Moot Court Society congratulated the winners and said that these students have proved their capabilities by their efforts.
The victorious team members Tanay Akash, Anand Shukla and Gargi Upadhyaya thanked all the faculty members and seniors for their guidance. While talking about the competition they said that the pressure was high on them as their seniors won this competition last year in 2018, so they had to defend the winning title. The expectations were high from them and they are happy that they achieved success in their endeavours.
