CUSB Assistant Professor Dr. Nitish Kumar’s Book on Arsenic toxicity published by Springer Publisher
A book entitled “Arsenic Toxicity: Challenges and Solutions, edited by Dr. Nitish Kumar, Assistant professor, Dept. of Biotechnology of Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) has been published by reputed international publisher Springer. Dr. Nitish’s book describes the fact that the Middle Gangetic plain of India is highly affected by arsenic toxicity. The book contains a total 15 chapters and it is available in both hard copy as well as e-copy.
The beneficial findings of Dr. Nitish published in the book is highly appreciated by CUSB VC Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh and Registrar Col. Rajiv Kumar Singh. Prof. Durg Vijai Singh, Head, Dept. of Biotechnology congratulated Dr. Nitish along with other faculty members of the department namely Prof. Rizwanul Haque, Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Dr. Krishna Prakash and Dr. Jawaid Ahsan.
Providing details about his work, Dr. Nitish said that the book mainly describes the different causes of arsenic toxicity and its effect on health with possible solutions. The book includes three main points, (i) it covers all the sources of arsenic toxicity and its distribution (ii) it explains the mechanism of arsenic toxicity on human health and (iii) it discusses all possible solution of arsenic remediation such as bioremediation, genetic engineering and nanotechnology.
The findings may be beneficial for finding the solutions of Arsenic affected areas of Bihar and other parts of the country, mentioned an optimistic Dr. Nitish.
