CUSB students get fellowship from National Science Academics

The undergraduate and postgraduate students of Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) has been selected for prestigious summer research fellowship in Chemistry offered by National Sciences Academies. B.Sc.-B.Ed (6th Semester) student Ms. Prachi Kumari,  three students of MSc. 2nd semester, Ms. Twinkle Gorai, Ms. Subhashree Kar and Mr. Jyoti Prakash Behera have been selected for fellowship with Life Science students Ms. Aishwarya, Ms. Taskeen Fatema and Ms. Ambika and Bioinformatics student Ms. Palak Singla.

The three national science academies namely, 1. Indian academy of sciences, Bengaluru,  2. Indian National Science academy, New Delhi, and 3. The National Academy of Sciences,  Allahabad) jointly  offer  two months summer research fellowships  for bright & motivated  students  to work with the  renowned scientists.  From 25 May through 24 July 2019, the students will be working under the guidance of these scientists.  The details are as follows:

The students thanked the faculty members of Dept. of Chemistry, Dr. Amiya Priyam and Dr. Girish Chandra, Dr. Arindam Bankura, Dr. Sudip Mohapatra and Dr. Sourabh Kumar for being supportive and encouraging in such endeavours. M.Sc. student Ms. Twinkle said that the advanced level experiments on spectrophotometry that she performed here strengthened her candidature for the aforementioned fellowship. The B.Sc.-B.Ed student, Prachi, said that learning chemistry is quite enjoyable here at CUSB due to friendly and ever-approachable nature of faculty members. She further said that she wants to do research on quantum dots and utilize them for making more efficient solar cells.  It is a matter of great pride for the university that it has bright young minds, who are willing to contribute to the scientific advancement of the nation by being actively engaged in cutting-edge research. Faculties of Chemistry department have congratulated to all selected students and wish for their bright future.
