CUSB VC Prof. Rathore laid the foundation stone for the second phase of the building construction work
Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Professor Harish Chandra Singh Rathore laid the foundation stone of all the projects approved in the second phase of construction by performing Bhoomi Pujan on July 09, 2021. The foundation stone of the second phase of the building construction work was laid with the aim of providing proper resources to the students, research scholars and the staff of the University. The Vice Chancellor laid the foundation stone of Rajarshi Janak Central Library, Jeevak Health Centre, Residential complex for employees and 600-bed Veer Savarkar Hostel. He was accompanied by Registrar Col Rajiv Kumar Singh, DSW Professor Atish Parashar, Proctor Professor Umesh Kumar Singh, Librarian Dr. Pramod Kumar Singh, Medical Officer Dr. Vivek Narayan as well as University Professors, officers and employees.
After laying the foundation stone of building, Prof. Rathore said that in the first phase we have completed our construction work in a very short time and established a well-equipped educational system that is benefiting the students all over the country, which gives a very satisfactory experience and inspires us to move forward. Now CUSB is moving towards the next stage of its construction work and we have dreamed of developing the University by securing the cultural heritage of Bihar so that the coming generation can continue their studies along with cherishing their rich culture.
Providing details CUSB Registrar Col Rajiv Kumar Singh said that the University has signed an agreement of Rs. 116 crore with CPWD for second phase of building construction, related amenities and campus development. As per the MoU, CPWD is supposed to build 64 staff quarters, 600 bed hostel, Central Library, Health Centre and a couple of other buildings. All the constructed buildings should be fully furnished equipped with amenities like water supply, sewerage, electricity and connecting roads. The residential buildings (staff quarters) would have two blocks of G+7 type and there would be two hostel blocks 300 seater each. The deadline to complete the said work is 24 months from its starting date.
The first phase of construction was started in 2015 in which around 10 buildings were constructed that include Administrative block, Boys Hostel, Girls Hostel, School of Science Building, School of Social Science Building, School of Education Building, Mess, Vice-Chancellor’s Residence, Guest House, Lecture Hall Complex, etc. The addition of the new buildings would add more to the grandeur of the 300 acres campus of the University. The University used to hit the headlines due to its quality education and good rankings carried by different government and private agencies.
