NEP Webinar Series: Effect of NEP on Youth Empowerment and Sports Development
The National Education Policy (NEP) can be made effective with the combined efforts of its stakeholders. It’s an ambitious policy of the government of India and the onus lies on our shoulders to make it successful, said Dr. R. P. Singh, Sports Director, Government of Uttar Pradesh during a special webinar organised by Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) on NEP. As per the guidelines received from UGC (University Grants Commission) the University is conducting webinar series. The webinar on the topic “Effect of NEP on Youth Empowerment and Sports Development” was organised by Dept. of Physical Education of CUSB under the week-long webinar series on 4th August, 2021.
As the Chief Guest for this webinar Dr. R. P. Singh in his address talked about the sports policies which are made by different organizations but not implemented properly at ground level. He expressed hope that NEP has come up as oxygen to uplift the lost glory of sports at different levels. He emphasised that working on NEP right from school level can be a path changer. Expert, Prof. Arvind Mallik from Kurukshetra University addressed the topic with facts and figures, he also said the NEP, if implemented properly will definitely make a big change in the sports arena. He emphasises that Physical activity should be made compulsory to each and every individual of the nation. Second expert for the webinar Prof. Abhimanyu Singh from BHU emphasized upon uplifting the basic infrastructure and to work at grass root level for making it effective. He also listed the benefits of NEP.
The Coordinator of IQAC Prof. Venkatesh Singh and Dean and Head School of Education Prof Kaushal Kishore presented their views on NEP and congratulated the department for organizing this webinar. Welcome address was given by the Head Department of Physical Education, Dr. Ashish Kumar Singh and the webinar was coordinated by Dr. Usha Tiwari, Associate Professor of the department. Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh, Dr. Jitender Pratap Singh, Dr. Pintu Lal Mondal and Mr. Mesangutan Meru were the members present. Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Rahul Kumar Singh.
