Sehat Kendra of CUSB conducts webinar on prevention from Covid-19

A webinar on the topic “Covid 19: Impact, Management and Precautions” was organized by the Sehat Kendra operated by Red Ribbon Club (RRC) of Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) on September 14, 2021. The webinar was organized under the guidance of Dr. Prashant, Assistant Professor, Department of Environmental Science and Nodal Officer of Red Ribbon Club. The faculty members of the committee, Dr. Jawaid Ahsan, Dr. Amrita Srivastava and Dr. Digvijay Singh, respectively, played an important role in organizing the program. A large number of university professors, staff and students joined the program organized for the purpose of spreading awareness about Covid-19.

In the beginning of the program, Dr. Prashant, Nodal Officer of Sehat Kendra said that the university is going to be fully opened for the students from next week, in such a situation, proper knowledge of the Covid pandemic is absolutely necessary so that its further infection can be avoided.

As the keynote speaker, Dr. Vivek Narayan, Medical Officer, CUSB gave detailed information about various aspects related to Covid-19. He apprised the students about the important words related to Covid, such as antibodies, testing and nasal system. He also explained what are the important symptoms of this pandemic ? and how it differs from the common flu? Speaking on testing, Dr. Vivek informed about the CT value of RT-PCR and explained why samples are taken from nose and mouth for all types of testing process. Motivating the students for Covid vaccination, he informed that all vaccines work the same and vaccination is essential for immunity. In his address, he told the importance of masks, proper distance for prevention and told the right method of washing hands with soap. Simultaneously, the medical officer said that yoga pranayama, consumption of proper protein-rich diet increases our immunity. He had suggested the participants to exercise to increase immunity to avoid infection of Covid.

 

Finally a question-answer session was organized in which participants asked various questions to Dr. Vivek. Responding to a question, Dr. Vivek clarified what is the difference between infection and disease and under what circumstances an infected person should be alert. At the end, Dr. Prashant gave a vote of thanks to the keynote speaker and the participants and said that awareness programs on health related topics will be organized by the Sehat Kendra in future also.
