CUSB faculty Dr. Ram Kumar felicitated by the Zoological Society of India
Dr. Ram Kumar from Centre for Environmental Sciences (EVS) of Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) has been felicitated by the Zoological Society of India. An associate professor in CUSB, Dr. Ram Kumar was conferred with the Prof. M. C. Dash Gold Medal along with citation in the International Symposium on “Understanding the Molecules of Life in the Era of New Biology” & 28th All India Congress of Zoology (AICZ), organized by Departments of Life Sciences, Davangere University, Karnataka, during 20-22 October, 2016. The award with citation has been conferred upon Dr. Ram Kumar for his outstanding contribution in the field of Aquatic Biology and Ecology.
During the award giving ceremony he was felicitated by Prof. Ashok Kumar Saxena, the General President of the Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA) and Prof. B. B. Kaliwal, the Vice President of the Zoological Society of India, and the Vice Chancellor of Davangere University, Karnataka. The renowned zoologist Prof. B. B. Kaliwal, the Vice President of the Zoological Society of India, and the Vice Chancellor of Davangere University spoke about Dr. Ram Kumar’s contributions referring that very few people from India has been working on the organismic Biology in aquatic Ecosystem. In fact, various interactions and events among organisms in aquatic ecosystem are not known from Indian water bodies. Dr. Ram Kumar’s ongoing work and contribution is milestone in this scientific area. Dr. Ram Kumar’s publications are well cited and these are not only from Freshwater ecosystems but equally good in Marine Ecology also.
In response to the high honour, a delighted Dr. Ram Kumar said that “I will continue the research with same vigour and enthusiasm in order to contribute meaningfully to the scientific fraternity as well as to bring in new innovations”.
