Prof. R.S. Rathore
Professor and Head
Specialization: Structural Biology & X-ray Crystallography, Molecular Modelling & Drug Design, Data Science, Connectome Modeling
Qualification : M. Phil., PhD , PDF (Univ. Texas, Galveston USA), Fellow, Royal Society of Chemistry, UK
Experience : 22 years. Rathore serves as a Professor in the Department of Bioinformatics since 2016. He obtained PhD (1991-99) in Biophysics at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore on de novo peptide design. He worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Texas (Medical Branch), Galveston, USA on mini-protein design and Protein Crystallography of Catabolite Gene Activator (CAP/CRP) Protein. He served as the first Dean of the Schools of Earth, Biological and Environmental Sciences during 2016-19 and Head of the Department of Bioinformatics during 2018-21.
Dr. Asheesh Shanker

Experience : 16 years (Teaching / Research) : Dr. Asheesh Shanker received postdoctoral training at University of Lausanne, Switzerland and is actively involved in bioinformatics teaching/research since 2004. He published several research papers in peer-reviewed journals of national & international repute and also authored/co-authored 4 books.
Dr. Ajay Kumar Singh

Qualification : M.Tech (Bioinformatics), Ph.D (Bioinformatics)
Experience : Dr. Ajay Kumar Singh is working as Associate Professor in the Department of Bioinformatics of Central University of South Bihar, Gaya. He has earned his doctorate in Bioinformatics from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow (formerly as UPTU, Lucknow), M.Tech.-IT (Specialization in Bioinformatics from I.I.I.T, Allahabad and M.Sc. Biotechnology from C.S.J.M. University, Kanpur. He started his research carrier during his Ph.D. on topic “Design and development of antitumor and anti-angiogenic drugs specially enzyme inhibitors for oral and cervical cancers”.

Dr. Durg Vijay Singh

Experience : Dr. Durg Vijay Singh has received M.Tech. & Ph.D. in Bioinformatics from Indian Institute of Information Technology Allahabad. He received his basic research training under the supervision of Prof. Krishna Misra. He did his M.Sc. in Biochemistry from G.B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology Pant Nagar and B.Sc. in Biology from the University of Lucknow. During his Ph.D. stint, he received training on animal cell culture and screening of drugs (Curcumin bio-conjugates) under the supervision of Prof. M.M. Godbole Department of Endocrinology, Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences Lucknow. He joined as Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Bioinformatics at the Central University of South Bihar. Dr. Singh’s research interests are Molecular modeling, Simulation, and Computer-Aided Drug Design and Development. He received funding from major funding agencies (UGC, SERB, DST, ICMR, and DBT) for different projects.
