Dr. Kiran Kumari, a Professor of Geography at the Central University of South Bihar (CUSB), Gaya, brings over 22 years of academic experience to her role. She joined CUSB in August 2022, following a distinguished tenure at Rajiv Gandhi University, Arunachal Pradesh. Dr. Kumari holds Ph.D. in Geography from V.B.S. Purvanchal University and specializes in Urban Geography, Regional Planning, Medical Geography, and GIS.
Her research credentials include the completion of a UGC-sponsored project titled “Urban Sprawl Pattern Analysis of Lucknow City”, highlighting her expertise in urban studies. Dr. Kumari has published extensively, with over 50 papers in UGC Care-listed journals and two books on urban geography in Eastern Uttar Pradesh. She has guided numerous Ph.D. and M.Phil. Scholars on diverse topics, including socio-economic development, tourism, and urban morphology.

Dr. Manjit Singh, currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography at the Central University of South Bihar, holds extensive academic and professional credentials. Having completed his Masters and Ph.D. in Geography from the Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi, with a specialization in transport accessibility and agricultural development in Himachal Pradesh, he also holds UGC-NET and CSIR-NET certifications. His teaching journey spans over a decade, including positions at Miranda House, University of Delhi, and Central University of South Bihar.
He has delivered numerous invited lectures on topics like sustainable development, tribal livelihood, disaster preparedness, and the Indian knowledge system, hosted by prestigious institutions like the University of Delhi, Jawaharlal Nehru University, and AISECT University, among others. His publication portfolio includes over 13 peer-reviewed journal articles and contributions to books on topics ranging from seismic challenges in Himachal Pradesh to human-wildlife conflicts in tiger reserves. He is the author of Dynamics of Urban and Regional Transport and a co-editor of works such as Rural Development: A Holistic Perspective and Perspective of Regional Development.

Dr. Sunita Singh is working as Assistant Professor in Department of Geography, Central University of South Bihar, Gaya. She joined this university in August 2022.She has 7 Years of teaching experience (PGDRS) in Rajeev Gandhi South Campus BHU & 5 Years experience of Post-Doctoral Fellowship (Women) UGC, Department of Geography, BHU. She is M.A. and PhD in Geography from Udai Pratap Autonomous College Varanasi affiliated to VBS Purvanchal University, Jaunpur. She has also done PG Diploma in Remote Sensing and GIS from IIRS Dehradun and M.Sc. in Remote Sensing and GIS from The Global Open University, Nagaland. The area of specialization is Physical Geography, Remote Sensing, GIS and Agricultural Geography. She has 18 research papers in peer reviewed/UGC Care listed journals and 7 chapters in national and international books. She has presented more than 30 research papers in national and international conferences/seminars. She has delivered lectures as resource person and keynote speaker in workshop and seminar held in different universities and colleges. Dr. Somnath Bera has been serving as an assistant professor in the Department of Geography at the Central University of South Bihar, India, since August 2022. He pursued his MPhil and PhD in Disaster Studies at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. Throughout his academic journey, he has extensively explored disaster-affected regions across India, Nepal, China, and Japan, enriching his research with firsthand experiences. Following his doctoral studies, Dr. Bera served as research associate in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. His scholarly pursuits focus on disaster risk and resilience. Dr. Bera’s contributions to the field have earned him numerous prestigious fellowships, grants, and awards. He has authored more than twenty research articles published in esteemed journals such as the International Journal of Disaster Risk Reduction, Journal of Cleaner Production, Journal of Environmental Management, Remote Sensing Applications: Society and Environment, Natural Hazards, Bulletin of Engineering Geology and the Environment, and Progress in Disaster Science, among others. Additionally, he has published two books with Springer Nature Switzerland and ten book chapters. Currently, Dr. Bera is serving as a guest editor for the Special Issue Sustainable Disaster Management and Community Resilience & Sustainability (MDPI). He also serves as a reviewer for prestigious international journals published by Elsevier, Springer, Taylor & Francis, and Nature.
