Dr. Sujeet Kumar

Specialization: Dr. Sujeet Kumar has joined the department in July, 2012. He has 7 years of industrial experience. He worked with a publication house for 2 years from where he got interested in journalism. Then he did Diploma in Journalism from the premiere institute of this country Indian Institute of Mass Communication. He started his career as Sub Editor at Hindustan Times Media Ltd., Delhi. He handled news website of the organization. He was also one of the key members of relaunching of Hindi website of this media house. He worked with relaunching team headed by renowned world fame newspaper designer Mario Garcia. Due to hard work and contribution to the website he was promoted to Senior Sub Editor. In 2012 he left HT Media Ltd. and joined NDTV Convergence Ltd. He joined here in mobile journalism department where he was responsible for looking after all the Hindi content. In the meantime he also started taking invited lectures on new media at IGNOU, Delhi, Central University of Jharkhand and several media institutes. For a brief period of time he also joined Sharda University as a regular faculty but left it due to some personal reasons. Finally he joined Central University of South Bihar in 2012. He has published 27 research papers and published 7 chapters. He has also edited a book titled “Media and Development”. Currently he is running an ICSSR funded major project titled “Mapping the Status of Regional Languages in the Digital Content: A Study on Content available at Language News Websites of India”. He is also a member of Hindi Salahkaar samiti in the ministry of commerce and industry, Indian Government. He is also a member of a committee for promotion of Indian languages on social media by Bhartiya Siksha Samiti, Ministry of Education, Indian Government.
