Under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign launched by Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi keeping in mind environmental protection and its responsibilities, an awareness campaign cum tree plantation program was organized by the Agriculture Department of Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) on 17th September, 2024. In the tree plantation program organized in the agricultural field of the university, Vice Chancellor Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh along with Registrar Prof. Narendra Kumar Rana planted a tree in the name of mother. DSW Prof. Pawan Kumar Mishra, Prof. Rati Kant Kumbhar, Dr. Manglesh Kumar Mangalam, Prof. Vivek Dave, Dr. Abod Kumar, Librarian Dr. Pramod Kumar Singh, Mrs. Renu, Dr. Rachna Vishwakarma, Assistant Registrar Shashi Ranjan, professors of Agriculture Faculty and students and staff were present in the tree plantation program. Vice Chancellor Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh appealed to the people present in the program that all of you should take a pledge today that you must plant a tree in the name of mother to protect the earth, only then the goal of water, life and greenery can be achieved.
Before the tree plantation program, an awareness campaign program (seminar) was organized by the Department of Agriculture under the guidance of the Vice Chancellor. The program was conducted by Dr. Hemant Kumar Singh (Assistant Professor) in which the faculty members and students of the Faculty of Agriculture presented their views on the topic 'One tree in the name of mother' through Hindi-English speeches, poems, essays and sher-wa-shayari etc. On this occasion, awareness programs were presented on the impact of environment and climate on environmental conservation and biodiversity and global impacts. In the program, the Head of Department and Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Ram Ashish Yadav presented a lecture on the utility and need of a tree. Among the faculty members of agriculture, Prof. Prabhat Kumar Singh, Dr. Pranav Tripathi and others also presented awareness lectures. The responsibilities of technical support in the program were discharged by Manoj Kumar Singh, Laboratory Assistant of Faculty of Agriculture.
