Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) is fully committed to adopt the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and fundamental principles laid down for educational institutions as well as the individual institutions studying and working in them. NEP 2020 gives prominence to ethics and human values such as cleanliness, spirit of service, respect for public property, personal and public hygiene, teamwork and cooperation etc. CUSB has fully adopted NEP 2020 in its curriculum and daily activities and in its context the university is committed to personal and public hygiene. These statements were made by Vice Chancellor of Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh at the inaugural ceremony of ‘Swachhata Hi Seva Pakhwada 2024’. The Vice Chancellor formally started the fortnight by pronouncing the slogan 'Savabhaav Swachhata, Sanskar Sanskar Swachhata' at the main gate of the university. Addressing the students, professors, officers and staff of CUSB, Vice Chancellor Prof. Singh said that everyone will take care of their personal hygiene as well as the cleanliness of the university campus, their homes and the surrounding areas. He appealed to the people present at the venue to do 'voluntary cleanliness work' on October 1 at the last stage of the fortnight and realize the dream of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi of complete cleanliness.
After his address, the Vice Chancellor started the 'Swachhata Hi Seva 2024' campaign by sweeping the main gate of the University, which will run till October 2, the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. Taking inspiration from the values of public cleanliness in NEP 2020, Vice Chancellor Prof Singh himself cleaned the public bus stand near the main gate of the university by sweeping it, so that commuters can sit comfortably. Under the 'Swachhata Hi Seva 2024' campaign, under the 'Campus for Community' resolution of the Vice Chancellor, the sides of National Highway No. 120 from the main gate to Dharamshala and Panchanpur have been cleaned.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh was accompanied by Registrar Prof. Narendra Kumar Rana, Finance Officer Mrs. Rashmi Tripathi, Controller of Examinations Dr. Shantigopal Pain, DSW Prof. Pawan Kumar Mishra, Proctor Prof. Pranav Kumar, NSS Program Coordinator Dr. Budhendra Kumar Singh, NCC ANO Lieutenant (Dr) Pragya Gupta, Librarian Dr. Pramod Kumar Singh, Deputy Registrar Pratish Kumar Das, Assistant Registrar Shashi Ranjan, etc. Along with the university administrative department, students who are members of the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit, students who are members of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) unit, Dean Students Welfare (DSW) office, Deans and Heads of various departments, hostel wardens, supporting outsourcing staff played an important role in making the program successful. It is known that under the 'Swachhata Hi Seva 2024' fortnight, many programs based on cleanliness will be organized in the CUSB campus and surrounding areas for the next 15 days.
