With the aim of reducing the increasing number of road accidents, a special road safety awareness campaign was organized at Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) on January 28, 2025. Team Smile, run by the students of CUSB under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh, organized this program under the Road Safety Campaign in collaboration with the Proctorial Board and District Transport Office (DTO), Gaya. Under the Road Safety Awareness Campaign, a quiz competition and painting competition along with a free eye check-up camp and awareness march were organized for the students in the university. The students participated enthusiastically in these activities and understood the importance of road safety in a better way.
Along with this, a lecture on road safety was organized in the Vivekananda Lecture Complex of the University, the aim of which was to increase awareness towards road safety and to inform the students and teachers about traffic rules. Dean Students Welfare (DSW) Prof. Along with Pawan Kumar Mishra, District Transport Officer Gaya Mr. Rajesh Kumar, Additional District Transport Officer Mrs. Baby Kumari, Secretary of Motor Accident Claims Tribunal Akash Kumar, Joint Director of Maruti Suzuki Limited Jagannath Yadav and Enforcement Inspector of Transport Department Anjani Pathak were present as special guests. After lighting the lamp, Assistant Professor of Hindi Department Dr. Anuj Lugun gave the welcome speech. After this, the speakers shared important information related to road safety and appealed to the students to follow the traffic rules.
Deputy Proctor Dr. Manglesh Kumar Mangalam and Faculty Supervisor of Team Smile Prof. Praveen Kumar also motivated the students through the program to follow road safety rules and spread more awareness on this subject. Dr. Javed Ahsan, Dr. Abhay Kumar, Dr. Abodh Kumar, Dr. Pawan Kumar Singh, Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh and Dr. Joginder Singh Chauhan, Mr. Sunil Pratap (Security Officer) etc. were present in the program.
Team Smile's President Atul Pathak thanked all the dignitaries, teachers, students and organizers and said that this program reflects our collective responsibility towards road safety. Along with following traffic rules, we should also make others aware of it. Team Smile's Advisory Committee and Executive Committee played an important role in making this program successful.
