The School of Law and Governance of Central University of South Bihar has organised the Special Lecture on the theme  "Emerging Rights and Duties in the light of Constitutional Transformation in India”. The guest speaker Prof. (Dr.) Subir Kumar Roy, (Head. Dept. Of Law, Bankura University, Bankura) has delivered the special lecture. This special lecture is convened by School of Law and Governance  of CUSB under the patronage of Honourable Vice-Chancellor, Prof.  Kameshwar Nath Singh. The event focused on the theme of the emergence of rights and duties in the era of transforming the constitution.  


An inspiring welcome address was delivered by Prof. S.P. Srivastava, Head & Dean of SLG, CUSB, Gaya. In his welcome address he honoured esteemed guest and respective faculties. In his welcome speech he mainly focused upon the landmark judgments, constitutional rights and duties. He focused upon the responsibility to take and perform the duty with full devotion.


About the program addressed by Prof. Dr. Ashok Kumar, Nodal officer SLG, CUSB, where he briefly focused on the celebrations done by the university on the occasion of Constitution Day year long celebration. He addressed the transformative role of the Constitution and highlighted the objectives of the event. He thanked and expressed his gratitude towards the respective team for the achievement of the vision of the Honourable Vice-Chancellor. 

Prof. (Dr.) Subir Kumar Roy, (Head. Dept. Of Law, Bankura University, Bankura) guest speaker emphasized upon the pivotal role of rights and duties during this era of transforming the Constitution. During his speech he took the examples of few foreign countries and their constitutional mechanisms. While talking about the Indian Constitution he mentioned that our Constitution is based on fulfilling the interests of masses. He also talked about the key points related to the Constitution on India such as Fundamental rights and the concept of limited government. He also focused upon the fact that Democracy is rooted in the culture. During his speech he also talked about the role of the Constitution during this era of globalization. Where often the interests of a nation are questioned on a global platform. The main highlights of his speech were the difference between Secularism and Pluralism. While concluding his speech he highlighted that Rights and Duties are complimentary to each other.
