The Union Budget 2025-26 is development oriented focussed towards ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ goal and it is having something for every citizen of India. Priority is given to the middle class in the Union budget and tax exemption is given which is a big relief for the common people of the country. These statements were made by Central University of South Bihar (CUSB) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh in a panel discussion on the Union Budget 2025-26 jointly organised by the Department of Commerce & Business Studies and Department of Economic Studies & Policy of the University. Prof. K. N. Singh in his address emphasized upon the crucial role of fiscal policies in shaping economic development. He said this is a visionary budget presented by Smt Nirmala Sitharaman, Minister of Finance & Corporate Affairs under the ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ goal of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. I am quite hopeful that this budget would bring encouraging financial outcomes for the country and its people.

Earlier at the onset of the programme organised at the Conference Hall of Administrative Building Dr. Rajanarayanan S., Associate Professor, Department of Commerce and Business Studies, provided an overview of the budget, setting the stage for a detailed discussion. The panel featured distinguished experts, including Prof. Brajesh Kumar, who discussed fiscal policy and deficit finance, Dr. Firdaus Fatima Rizvi discussed agriculture and rural development aspects of the budget, Dr. Atish Kumar Dash elaborated on social welfare programs and employment generation, Dr. Pawas Kumar spoke on infrastructure development, Dr. Rikil Chyrmang on power and energy reforms, Dr. Rachana Vishwakarma on women empowerment and the gig economy, Dr. Sanjay Kumar on taxation reforms, and Dr. Rajni Kant Ojha on industrial and economic growth. The discussion covered various aspects of the budget, analysing its implications on economic growth, public welfare, and policy implementation. An interactive Q&A session allowed attendees, including students and faculty members, to engage with the panellists on key issues. The session concluded with a summary report and a vote of thanks delivered by Mrs. Renu, Assistant Professor, Commerce, who expressed gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor, panellists, and attendees for their valuable contributions. The event provided insightful deliberations on the Union Budget 2025-26, fostering a deeper understanding of its impact on various sectors of the economy.
