Panel Discussion organised by Team Smile and Department of Political Studies on International Women's Day
On the occasion of International Women's Day, a panel discussion was organised under the aegis of Team Smile, Department of Political Studies, Central University of South Bihar (CUSB). The topic of the discussion was "From Stereotypes to Equality: Changing the Perception of Working Women in Society". The aim of the event was to bring about a positive change in the mindset of society towards women and spread awareness on gender equality.
During the panel discussion, experts shared their views on the status of women at the workplace, gender discrimination and ways to break social stereotypes. Dr. Aparna Jha (Department of English), Mrs. Renu (Department of Commerce and Business Studies) and Dr. Kumari Neetu (Department of Law and Governance) were the panelists in this discussion. They discussed in detail the challenges faced by women at the workplace, their rights and ways to bring about positive change in the society.
The panelists highlighted the various dimensions of feminism and explained that it not only talks about women's rights but is also a big step towards an egalitarian society. They also explained that misinterpretation of feminism sometimes presents its reality in a negative light. The discussion also explained how structural social and economic changes force women to take certain decisions.
After this, in the question-answer session, students asked questions to the panelists on burning issues, which were answered in detail by the experts. This event gave students and participants an opportunity to think deeply on gender equality and women's rights. The success of the program proved that such discussions can play an important role in bringing positive change in the society.
Dean of the School of Social Sciences Professor Pranav Kumar, Professor Praveen Kumar, Dr. Abhay Kumar, Dr. Sumit Kumar Pathak and Dr. Pawan Kumar Singh, Dr. Joginder Singh Chauhan were also present in this program.
