Sewa Sankalp pledge taken at CUSB
A university bears a responsibility towards the nation and its citizens, and it is incumbent upon all of us to shoulder the significant duty of discharging this responsibility with efficiency. Whether it involves academic instruction or the day-to-day administrative operations of the office, we must all perform our duties with a spirit of service. This statement was delivered by Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh, Vice-Chancellor of the Central University of South Bihar (CUSB), during a special program organized in compliance with the directives of the 'Sewa Sankalp Proposal' (Service Pledge Initiative) issued by the Department of Higher Education, Government of India. He emphasized that whether one is a professor, a senior official, a staff member, or a student, a spirit of service should permeate the activities of every individual. Prof. Kameshwar Nath Singh further stated that the university should not confine itself merely within its four walls; it has always been his firm belief that a 'Campus is for the Community.' Therefore, while striving to achieve new heights of success alongside academic excellence, we must also work for the community with a service-oriented mindset, thereby ensuring that the surrounding villages benefit from our endeavors.

On this occasion, during the special program held in the conference hall of the CUSB Administrative Building, Deputy Registrar Mr. Pratish Kumar Das recited the 'Sewa Sankalp' (Service Pledge) approved by the Union Cabinet, which was subsequently repeated by the Vice-Chancellor, along with the professors, officials, and staff members present. Following the pledge-taking ceremony, everyone resolved: "We, under the visionary leadership of Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reiterate our commitment to making our nation a global exemplar of sensitive, responsive, and citizen-centric governance; furthermore, we pledge to continue contributing to the journey of transforming India into a prosperous, capable, and self-reliant nation by the year 2047." Subsequently, the professors and officials engaged in discussions regarding measures to integrate the values embodied in this pledge into their academic and administrative workflows, with the aim of developing the university into an exemplary institution dedicated to the service of society.
